Welcome! I am Florin Pop. I live in Bucharest (Romania), together with my son Mihai-Florin and my wife, Cosmina.
I am Assistant Professor (Lecturer) at Computer Science Department, Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers, University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest. I teach Communication Protocols and Numerical Methods (bachelor courses) and Scheduling Algorithm and Methods and Architecture of Service Oriented Information Systems (master courses).
As my motto anticipates, I’m involved in research activities. My research interests include Distributed Systems and Computing, Data Modeling, Image Processing, Communication Protocols and Numerical Analysis. Specific topics include Scheduling in Distributed System, Grid Environments, Fault-Tolerance Techniques, Decentralized Peer-to-Peer Systems, Dependable Systems, Modeling and Simulation, Advanced Networking Architectures, Parallel and Distributed Algorithm, Electronic Services, Data Collecting and Aggregation.
As a teacher and researcher, I'm always looking for graduate students (master students) and advanced undergraduates interested in any of my areas of research. Please read this page if you are interested in applying for a position.
